We thank Dournes et al for their comments on our recent article. The computed tomography (CT) airway morphometric assessment has come a long way since the times of 2-dimensional manual tracing of the airway wall boundaries. Recent advances in the imaging technology and postprocessing enable 3-dimensional analysis of volumetric CT scans with lumen extraction, generation of airway centerline, segmentation of the airway tree up to 5th to 6th generation, and measurement of the airway dimensions on reformatted images that are orthogonal to the airway long axis. With such progression in capabilities of CT data analysis, it is natural that 3-dimensional airway morphometry should be explored.
