Immunohistochemical evaluation of apoptosis in different phases of TVT growth.

摘要

The present study indicated that immunohistochemistry for the detection of apoptotic cells was highly valuable in determining the pattern of occurrence of apoptic cells in different phases of TVT and the formamide anti ss DNA staining method could be used conveniently, as it specifically detects DNA of apoptotic cells and not that of necrotic cells. From the observations of the present study it could be inferred that apoptosis is not a feature contributing to spontaneous regression in TVT and its progressive increase in number between different phases does not signify regression, indicating clearly the role of other factors other than apoptosis in spontaneous regression of TVT.
