In a study of 118 periparturient diseased cows, liver biopsy was performed to determine the degree of fatty liver. Number of cattle with mild, moderate and severe fatty liver were 32, 36 and 40 respectively. There was no fat infiltration in 10 cows.It was shown that periparturient diseases such as milk fever, ketosis, displaced abomasum, retained placenta, mastiffs and endometritis were associated with fatty liver.
