Oocytes were matured in 3 media: (1) TCM 199 + 0.5μg FSH/ml + 5μg LH/ml + 1μg oestradiol-17beta/ml + bovine serum albumin; (2) TCM 199 + 10% buffalo oestrous serum; (3) TCM 199 + 15% buffalo oestrous serum. Of 170, 176 and 172 oocytes placed in the 3 media respectively, 80.5, 73.3 and 75.5% matured, and 53.2, 43.1 and 43.8% cleaved.
