Use of Slide ELISA for the Diagnosis of Bovine Babesiosis

Babesiosis is one of the major protozoan diseases affecting cattle. The common diagnostic tests employed for the diagnosis of babesiosis are the blood smear examination and serological tests. Several serologival tests have been developed for the detection of babesial antibody in animals. Ravindran et aL(2001) reported the Slide ELISA for the detection of B. bigemina and indicated the potential of Slide ELISA for use as a field diagnostic test.
