摘要

The Re:fresh 2007 conference, The Fresh Produce Footprint, held in London in May, explored the ways in which the industry is aiming to leave the smallest carbon footprint on the world in which it operates, whilst ensuring that UK consumers purchase high quality fruit. 'We are seeing a major shift in consumer attitudes said Jat Sahota, Fruit Category Manager with Sainsbury's. 'Our surveys show that 85% of customers are aware of, and interested in, environmental and social issues', he explained. 50% would be prepared to pay at least 5% more and 25% as much as 10% more for fruit branded in this way.
