Environmental Management Plan and Impact Assessment Including Land Reclamation

It is the practice in new projects to direct the management studies towards maximising economic return and its technical feasibilities. Of late the importance is given not only to project benefits but also to unanticipated, undesirable consequences due to the project. Priority is also given to items that nullify the Socio-economic benefits for which the project was designed. These matters concerning environmental degradation and its adverse effect are studied in depth and mitigating measures both qualitative and quantitative are undertaken. At present the environmental parameters (or safeguards are planned and executed. The process is monitored by scientists over a period of time. Corrective measures for the ecosystem as a whole i.e. air, water, soil, flora and fauna are given priority. The environmental appraisal of power projects, mining, industry are given direction through a government agency. The agency have over a period studied and predicted the anticipated changes, magnitude of that change and its significance. They are assessed and projected by the agency.
