摘要

I HAVE a special affection for plants with dual usefulness as both food and medicine. I don't use plant medicine simply as a substitute for pharmaceutical drugs to treat a specific problem. Rather, I use plant medicine as a means of nourishing my whole being, the physical as well as the non-physical: mind, emotions, and spirit.Wild strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries—they all have healing qualities, and I have loved them all since childhood. Dandelion isVthe first plant—and perhaps the most valuable and versatile of the wild plants—that I've used for food as well as medicine. These summer-time plants that grow out in the fields and woods offer so many health benefits and have long been a part of my life.
