Peak season or not, there's always beauty in the Gardens

We all know that a full camellia season can run from October through April — this includes early, mid and late season blooming camellias. At Massee Lane Gardens we hold an annual month long celebration in February and promote it as our "peak" blooming season. During the month, we schedule tours, box lunches, educational sessions and related activities. It is usually by far our "peak" in visitation at the Gardens.Three days before our official kick-off day with free admission,winter storm Leon blew through. The Middle Georgia area had two snow days where all local businesses and schools were closed. On that Saturday morning, I don't think Massee Lane Gardens had one single open bloom but we continued with our planned activities anyway.
