"Welding would be a great side job," said high school senior Alex Bartels in a Reuters report about the Boy Scouts introducing a merit badge for welding. "But it gets real boring, real fast." That statement pretty much sums up the attitudes of the Millennials, loosely defined as those born between 1978 and 1995. They may get where you are coming from, but they don't necessarily want to go there. And they'll let you know about it. Demographic experts don't call them "Generation Why" for nothing. "Because I said so" or "We've always done it like that" doesn't sit well with these young folks.
