E.ON to invest millions in UK gas storage

THE German energy company, E.ON, hopes that its recent acquisition of Holford Gas Storage Limited (HGSL) in the UK will enable it to store enough gas to meet half of the country's daily demand by 2009.The second largest supplier in the UK has responded to predictions that the UK will soon become a net importer of gas by planning to invest ￡196m (US343m) in its subsidiary E.ON UK.
