Medical students and mental health: the UK perspective

A is any dean knows from experience, students who develop serious mental health problems at medical school can present complex challenges, whether educational, pastoral or ethical. Although most students with mental health problems recover and progress with appropriate support, the behaviour of a small minority raises real concerns about their longer-term fitness to practise.
