BackgroundGranulomatous inflammation is considered an immune mechanism against infection or certain non-neoplastic conditions. Sarcoidosis-like granuloma reactions (SGRs) in primary tumors or in regional lymph nodes are occasionally observed; however, they are rare in lung cancer.
