The vast majority of automotive radiators, condensers, evaporators and heater cores in today's vehicles are mass-produced in a Controlled Atmosphere (Aluminum) Brazing (CAB) furnace in which the pre-assembled exchanger components are brazed. Many NARSA members are already quite familiar with the principles of flame brazing aluminum components for repair or remanufacture, but the continuous production of large volumes of aluminum heat exchangers requires an extremely complex mix of engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, and sophisticated equipment.
