BUCYRUS International has received an order for a highwall miner from India, which will be the first technology of its kind in the country. The machine will be operated by Cuprum Bagrodia Limited (CBL) of Kolkata at SECLs Sharda OC project and is expected to begin operations during the fourth quarter of 2010. The applied mining method will be trench mining, a method that requires a minimum removal of overburden compared to traditional open pit mining.
