The United States faces serious public health and national security threats from the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD)-chemical,biological,radiological,or nuclear (CBRN)-by hostile governments or terrorists,and from naturally emerging infectious diseases that have the potential to disrupt the public health or economic infrastructure of our nation.
