Defence Research and Development Canada: A Leader in Defence and National Security Science and Technology

2007 marked the 60th anniversary of defence science in Canada. With roots stemming back to WWII, Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) has evolved into a leading defence and national security S&T organization. As an agency within the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND), DRDC ensures the Canadian Forces are technologically prepared and operationally relevant. DRDC operates seven research centres across Canada, each with a unique combination of expertise and facilities that enable it to carry out world-class research and development. With a broad scientific program, it collaborates with industry, international allies, academia, other government departments and the national security community.
