Application of carbon nanotube has begun. Yumura of national Institute of Material and Chemical Research developed a display, in cooperation with ISE Electronics and Prof. Y. Saito of Mie University. Presently, quality of image is low, but the display device exhibit character of "ISE" clearly. This is because fixel is only 500. Yumura say brightness is high enough. FED is regarded as promising future display device, and may types of FED have been proposed so far. However, non of them are regarded as future display device. This is because image quality is had. The reason why image quality become low is based on simple reason. For FED, electrode arrays emit electron to irradiate on fluorescent membrane. Therefore whim size of electron beam is large enough or is not small enough, size of unit image become large, that is, quality of image generated by FED depend on size of electrode which emits electron beam.
