Borealis Boosts PE Capacity in Finland

Borealis says it will invest european dollar 17 million to upgrade one of its polyethylene (PE) production units at Porvoo, Finland. The investment will increase PE capacity by 15,000 m.t/year, to 255,000 m.t./year. The project is due for completion in fall 2012. Borealis’ Porvoo facility houses two PE plants, as well as a 600,000 m.t./year olefins cracker and a phenol and aromatics plant.
