ACS 2016: Upbeat mood as paint makers focus on differentiation

The mood was mostly upbeat at this year’s American Coatings Show (ACS), held this week in Indianapolis, as coatings makers and ingredients suppliers saw strong demand. Most end markets related to coatings, such as construction and automotive, are looking set for solid growth, although there are exceptions in some industrial sectors. Coatings producers are also increasingly focused on product differentiation, as consolidation has created a highly competitive environment among major producers.
