EPA has reaffirmed the registration of Dow Chemical's Enlist Duo herbicide for corn and soybean crops after finding the formulation, a combination of 2,4-D and glyphosate, does not show any increased toxicity to plants. The decision comes 9 months after the Agency sought and received a court-ordered remand of the product after data supplied by Dow suggested synergies between the active ingredients could result in greater toxicity to nontarget plants. However, EPA’s review of the additional data confirmed EPA’s initial findings of no synergy in the Enlist Duo formulation, EPA said in a statement issued today. "These data demonstrate that the combination of 2,4-D choline and glyphosate in Enlist Duo does not show any increased toxicity to plants and is therefore not of concern."
