The world is constantly changing, which means it is even more important to teach agriculture students how to think in and about agriculture rather than simply teaching them what to think about agriculture. In fact, Newcomb, McCracken, and Warmbrod (1993) address this notion in one of their Principles of Teaching and Learning According to Principle 11, "To maximize learning, students should 'inquire into' rather than "be instructed in' the subject matter".
