Corn Products International (Westchester, IL) says it plans to invest $75 million-$100 million over the next several years to increase ingredient capacity in Brazil. The investment would also be used to develop new ingredients, the company says. Corn Products cites "rapid growth" of the food, beverage, and industrial sectors in Brazil. The company operates manufacturing plants in five Brazilian cities: Alcantara, Balsa Nova, Cabo de Santo Agostinho, Conchal, and Mogi Guacu. Corn Products recently acquired National Starch from AkzoNobel for $1.3 billion.
