gA series of alpha,omega-aldehyde-capped thiophene oligomers with two, four and six thiophene units have been prepared via a convenient, three-step synthesis in good yields. The UV-vis spectral data show that the pi-conjugation length in the tetramer is longer than those in the hexamer and in the dimer in various solvents. [References: 17]
