Readers of this series will recall that ABC Corporation's Jerold Graham, Quality Assurance Manager; reliability engineer Jim Smith; designer Peter Gilhooley; and production trainee Karl Jenkins are in A-1 Environmental Test Laboratory's shaker area with A-1's test engineer Joseph A. (Joe) Youngman and Alfred (Al) Jenkins, dynamics test technician. Jim stations himself near the monitoring unit that connects to computer ABC #1, while Peter stations himself near the monitoring unit that connects to computer ABC #2. Joe guides Jerold into the control room where Al is seated between controllers 1 and 2. Each displays the spectrum of Figure 1 but at the reduced level of 1G. A voltmeter indicates that RMS acceleration. Joe and Jerold seat themselves where they, as well as Al, can see Jim and Peter through the control room window. An intercom brings them Jim's and Peter's voices, both reporting "So far, so good." Karl observes.
