MEGlobal seeks permit to build EG plant in Freeport, TX

MEGlobal has applied to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for an air permit authorizing construction of an ethylene glycol facility in Freeport, TX, according to a notice published by the TCEQ on 10 December. Both Freeport, TX, and Prentiss, AB, Canada, remain possible locations for the facility. 'MEGlobal continues to work on securing the tax abatements and permits to make a final decision, which will be announced in [first quarter] 2016,' says a MEGlobal spokesperson.
