Posterior hip dislocations frequently result from forces applied at the knee joint and are associated with high rates of concomitant intra-articular knee injury. Simultaneous ipsilateral hip and knee dislocations present a challenging problem because of the need for urgent reduction, which is balanced by the need to avoid iatrogenic injury that may be caused by reduction attempts.2'7 Additional ipsilateral injuries to the extremity increase the complexity of the early management of these dislocation injuries.
