KOGAS Tries to Explore Opportunities to Sell Redundant LNG

Korea’s state-owned Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) began to explore opportunities to sell surplus LNG. InAugust and September, KOGAS announced its intention to participate in the projects to construct LNG import terminal inSouthern Mexico on Yucatan Peninsula and in Ceara state, Brazil respectively. It is analyzed that KOGAS regards bothcountries as possible destinations for LNG supplied from the U.S. which is expected to become redundant in Asia in thefuture due to uncompetitive prices in view of longer transportation distances.
