Cosmo Oil Raises Capacity of Its Coker at Sakai Refinery

Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd. recently revealed that it completed expansion work to increase production capacity of its delayed coker unit from 25,000 barrels per day to 29,000 bpd, which has been in operation at 100,000 bpd Sakai refinery in Sakai city, Osaka prefecture. Cosmo Oil submitted its application dated February 1st to raise its authorized capacity to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan in order to cope with the regulation under the law entitled “Sophisticated Methods of Energy Supply”, which the ministry enforced in July 2010.
