U.S. Chevron Makes 1st LNG Shipment from Australian Gorgon LNG

Chevron Corporation, the second-largest integrated energy company in the United States, announced on March20th (local time in the U.S.) that it made the first LNG shipment from Gorgon LNG Project in Australia, for which it servesas the operator. The LNG cargo was carried by “Asia Excellence”, one of its fleet of six LNG carriers, to be supplied toChubu Electric Power Company in Japan. A LNG cargo arrived t Gorgon LNG plant on Barrow Island last December toassist in cooling down the associated facilities. The preparations had been made to start production at the liquefactiontrain 1 and the production began on March 7th.
