INSULATION GROWTH DRIVES UP RECTICEL'S 2011 SALES

Brussels - Belgian polyurethane foam group Recticel achieved sales in 2011 of ?1378.1 million ($1830 million) a rise of 2.2 percent over sales the previous year, driven solely by growth of 19 percent in its insulation division, it said. The company's earnings (EBITDA before non-recurring elements) were ?88.6 million, a drop of 14.8 percent over those in 2010. Recticel said after a strong first quarter in 2011, with a sales rise of 7.4 percent, the rest of the year saw slower growth of around 1.2 percent, and softer demand in most markets, amplified by "year-end inventory reductions in the supply chain."
