摘要

Although the addition of fumed silica greatly improves the pumping characteristics of alumina-magnesia wet gunning materials, the refractory properties were found to be better with lower fumed silica content as follows:Lower fumed silica content resulted in1) Improvement of corrosion resistance2) Improvement of spalling resistance3) Suppression of contraction because of reduced sintering4) Higher hot modulus of ruptureFrom the above results, it is expected that material with less fumed silica would exhibit better corrosion and peeling-off resistance than conventional materials resulting in higher durability.
