Until now, the development of unshaped refractories for ladle slag line has been carried out by the improvement of the chemical corrosion resistance, mainly. However, the life of unshaped refractories for ladle slag line is lowered by the physical factor, many case. The typical example is the peeling owing to cracking. Te life lowering of the unshaped refractory by the peeling becomes an important problem in not only castable but also wet gunning material. This study examined thermo mechanical property of the wet gunning material that affected the peeling owing to cracking. The thermo mechanical properties of the wet gunning material were evaluated by thermal stress, hot elastic modulus, hot expansion, and permanent linear change after the baking, etc.
