The following results were obtained using the developed chrome-free bricks at the hottest zone. Developed chrome-free bricks had the expected coating adhesion ability, which was similar to Mg-Cr bricks The shell temperature did not increase, which was the intermediate temperature of Mg-Cr bricks applied zone of both sides. - (3) -The thickness of developed bricks through the operation period were similar to that of Mg-Cr bricks. Developed bricks were superior in high temperature reaction resistance. Consequently, the reaction with liquid components of cement and the texture deterioration were less. Developed bricks were superior in penetration resistance, and the peeled layer thickness of bricks was thin and stable. The durability beyond Mg-Cr bricks was expected at the hottest zone.
