We read with great interest the article of Sarma et al recently in your journal and appreciated the methodology used, especially the multivariate approach for the statistical analysis. We believe that the results on BMI are quite interesting (odds ratio [OR] = 1.1, 95% confidence interval [95% CI] = 1.1-1.2; P < .05), and we want to complete them with those gathered from a similar cross-sectional survey on noninstitutionalized nondiabetic females, which was recently conducted by our group.
