The pit's first 357-metre retreat face is scheduled to come on stream in the five metre thick Warwickshire Thick seam in the new year ... and its opening fresh frontiers with the industry's first super heavyweight 3.3kV AFC using 50mm broadband chain. The new 32s' face will yield over 3.25 million tonnes in 15 months with a 1.850kW bi-directional Eickhoff SL500 shearer capable of extracting up to five metres of the thickest coal seam in Europe.
