Ukraine's economic interests in the Arab world

The Persian Gulf and the Middle East countries become a new economic interest to Ukraine. Presently, commodity turnover between Ukraine and the Arab states is approaching USD 1 bn. At the same time, Ukrainian-Arab economic cooperation seems to have much greater potential. Nowadays, there are more than 20 Arab countries worldwide, which are located in the Middle East, the Near East and the North Africa. Among them the Gulf states are notable for the highest level of economic development. These countries possess significant oil and gas deposits, whose exploitation allows them to rank among the richest countries in the world. Other advantages of regional economy consist in favorable investment climate, low rates of import duty, absence of anti-dumping laws, and relative independence from various crises characterizing global economy.
