A very simple definition of sustainability is the capacity to endure, In ecology; the expression describes how biological systems remain diverse and productive over the time, For humans, sustainability can mean provision of potential for long term maintenance of well-being, encompassing social, economic and environmental dimensions, Science has the potential to develop new tools such as green technologies and renewable energy It can also provide adjustments in individual lifestyles to conserve natural resources, Sustainability principles can be broken down into four main themes: reduce dependence upon fossil fuels, underground metals and minerals; reduce dependence upon harmful synthetic chemicals and unnatural substances; reduce encroachment upon nature; and meet human needs fairly and efficiently
