Explaining riskI am normally a great fan of David Straker's "Tools of the Trade" articles, but I did find the article in May QW dif?ficult to follow and understand.Risk is now, I believe, universally defined as a combination of the likelihood and severity of an event occurring: eg the severity of an earthquake and the likelihood of its occurring (as referred to in Health and Safety Executive, CEN and ISO definitions).
