In the 12 years I've spent in the private, publicand voluntary ecology sectors, including statutory nature conservation authorities in the UK, I have worked on the management, monitoring and designation of European wildlife sites for terrestrial, freshwater and marine habitats. I have provided statutory planning responses relating to these habitats and my expertise includes phase one, two and national vegetation classification botanical surveys, river habitat surveys, and extended phase one protected species surveys. Throughout my time in the industry, I've found that the best companies to work for are the ones that have a genuine concern for nature conservation and who have this concern at the heart of their working practice. The voluntary bodies, such as the wildlife trusts, are the best companies to work for - they do a lot of good with limited resources.
