Schweitzer-Mauduit to shut PM,exit decor business

Schweitzer-Mauduit,the world's largest supplier of fine papers to the tobacco industry,will exit the decor paper business due to high manufacturing costs and low profitability,the company said last week.Schweitzer-Mauduit plans to shut on Sept.1 one of its two paper machines at its Eagle Mill,which is part of a four-mill system in Lee,Mass.The company will continue to provide customers with product until they can secure alternative decor paper supply.
