Bowed down by debt and faced with the prospect of being unable to pay bills less than a year after concluding a $1.4 billion acquisition of coated paper rival NewPage, Verso said it will sell assets and restructure its balance sheet — if necessary under court-supervised Ch 11 bankruptcy protection.
