Dow Chemical, continuing efforts to mend its balance sheet in the wake of its Rohm & Haas purchase, says it has raised enough cash through asset sales and bond issues to pay down the balance of a $9.3-billion bridge loan used to fund the deal. The company also named Petronas as the buyer of its stake in the Optimal Group of companies, sold acrylics assets in Texas, outlined plans for further asset sales, and announced the departure of former R&H COO Pierre Brondeau in a flurry of activity over the past two weeks.
