After a year of major consolidation in 2014, the North American kraft paper and shipping sack producers started this year on a fairly positive note, according to market contacts. Mills reported healthy backlogs and domestic sack kraft paper prices remained stable through the winter. Kraft paper producers are still benefiting from last spring's $50/ton price increase on most kraft paper grades.
