Amazon, which has opened up seven warehouses this year in the USA, reported a $41 million loss in the third quarter on revenue of $17.09 billion, which was up 24% vs third quarter 2012 revenue and beat analyst expectations. Operating expense for Amazon totaled $17.12 billion in the quarter, with the firm noting higher costs, for example for transportation for its planned fast-service deliveries as well as for technology, content, and streaming video movie content, the company reported on Oct. 25, based on Wall Street Journal story. Sales in North America increased 30% to $9.5 billion or 55.6% of its total revenue.
