AFTER two years of prototype development Padco Ltd has started production of a new range of cultivator/separators, previewed in Potato Review last November. Designer Charles Padfield says his brief was simply to build a machine that was 'faster, better and cheaper' than the established competition. The Comet is unique among separators in having no share. The reverse-driven front rotor lifts the bed, leaving no smear, onto nine rows of large, aggressive stars arranged In a steo formation.
