In August 2013 was published the Technical Specification CEN/TS 16555-1: Innovation Management. Part 1: Innovation Management System. It is a guide to introduce, develop and maintain a system for innovation management, applicable to all organizations, public and private, regardless of sector, type or size. The Specification considers innovation a key driver to improve the results, the value and competitiveness of an organi?zation. It is structured in 11 sections that analyze the whole process of innovation, from the analysis of the context in which the organization operates to the understanding and implementation of innovation management techniques, the feedback of the results. Since the innovation management system follows the structure of PDCA (plan, do, check, act), it can be integrated within other management systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
