Canola gobhi sarson and zero erucic acid raya varieties can be sucessfully grown on varied types of soils provided proper drainage is provided. Salt affected soils are not fit for their cultivation.Gobhi sarson and raya are the important winter season oilseed crops. With availability of canola quality gobhi sarson and low erucic acid raya, there is need to encourage farmers to cultivate these quality crops/varieties. Further, the productivity of these can be enhanced to a great extent by adoption of improved agronomic practices which include several non-monetary and low cost practices. Cost of cultivation can also be curtailed by making judicious use of inputs. Important agronomic practices recommended for cultivation of canola quality gobhi sarson and zero erucic acid raya are being presented herein:
