Due to hot and humid weather in this month, the homemakers may plan their activities by adopting useful tips as under: Wash your clothes everyday for cleanliness in order to save skin from boils, rashes, prickly heat and other allergies. Dry them properly before putting them in the cupboard to avoid attack of moth / mildew / silver fish / crickets, etc. Check any rust stains on your clothes. If so, rub it with half-cut lemon and salt or put in boric powder solution for 5~(-1)0 minutes and wash it well. To avoid bad odour and stains of oil / ghee on your kitchen napkins / dusters, boil one teaspoon washing soda with two tea-spoons soap flakes / detergent powder for 10 minutes in one and a half litre of water. Cool it. Now add one teaspoon paraffin (available at Chemist Shop) in it. Soak napkins in this solution. Boil it again for half an hour, the dirt will start floating. Rinse it in warm water thoroughly. Dry it under sun to get rid of paraffin smell and stains. Besides clothes, metal work on shoes, bags and purses also blacken in this weather. Shoes need proper care and protection from moth / mildew, etc. To remove mildew stains, rub the stain with soap lather / detergent powder and spread french chalk over it. Then keep it under sun for drying.Sponge it with a muslin cloth. Repeat this process 2-3 times for thorough cleaning. Stains on white shoes may be cleaned with spirit.
