Citrus occupies a place of considerable importance in the fruit economy of the country and forms the third largest fruit industry. Nutrition constitutes an important component of intensive cultivation of citrus fruits. An inadequate nutrition of citrus orchards is one of the major constraints, limiting the growth and productivity, thus leading to citrus decline. Plants require a balanced nutrition programme (supply of essential nutrients i.e. macro as well as micro elements) formulated to provide specific needs for maintenance and for expected production performance. Properly nourished fruit plants grow stronger, produce more consistently, have better disease resistance and are tolerant to stresses.
